Jolly little comedy ala meet the fockers. I generally find Jennifer Aniston tedious but she was only moderately tedious here. Group of batty hippies entertain ex rat race couple. Alan Alda is on duty. It's with a few hours of yr time.

Thin Ice

Alan Arkin from Little Miss Sumshine
and Sunshine Cleaning was in this. Tale of rascally insurance agent getting his comeuppance. Pretty funny in a small film way. The ending is a bit unjustified. It is just plunked down aka Miss Marple in the library. But it's fun and sort of quirky.

Set in s Africa. This was the best part of this otherwise tedious 'must we sit through it' chase-Othon. Denzel W and Sam Shephard yawn yawn convoluted spy drama. John le C does this so much better. Glimpses of s Africa
Interesting.

Incredibly tedious and Extremely Unbelievable!
May have got the title wrong!
Boy loses Father in 9/11 drama!
Obnoxious brat. Kind of child you want to feed into a meat grinder and press the on button. St Tom Hanks plays noble paternal. Vomit. Sandra Bullock plays devoted wife and mother. Yuck!
Everything is done to manipulate the emotions. In a caper film one might forgive, but there is no humour anywhere here. And it goes on and on. I wanted to yell obscenities when the beastly brat finds a note that the dead nobility left in the swing that the brat was afraid to ride before!!! Pooh to all this shit!!!

Marvelous job by Glenn Close!!!
Also liked the lady man painter!!!
Good film about quiet desperation. Very much a Masterpiece Theatre type thing.
Do wonder about someone really pulling it off, though. Could Albert really pull off the woman masquerading as a man? Wouldn't she have been nobbled ???? Would have been more convinced if it had been an open secret. Still a good film, though. How really well do we know people?

One for the Money

We all love the Janet Evanovich
novels. Stephanie Plum, Lula, Morelli, and Ranger.

This film was good. Trenton looked convincing. Heigl was good as Stephanie, Ranger could have looked a little more haughty and aloof. Morelli was not quite convincing. Stephanir's mama was good and so was grandma Mazr. Lula was not such a force in this first novel. Good romp. Almost a Sandra Bullock style thing. Love able klutz girl w a weakness for men who comes out ok!!!

You may see it!!!

Carnage

This is one of the better films I've seen, recently. It's one of those theatre play films. Two locations. One inside the flat and a couple of brief scenes in some NY park. Sort of a Woody meets Larry event.
It's about a classic event. Two boys have a boyz fight, and then the parents have to deal. The carnage that ensued is so well done!!!

Have to say that Roman Polanski would not have been approved by the Jodie Foster ch..

This is a low budget film that worked !!!

The Iron Lady

Let me say that I was disgusted by this film. I went and checked before I wrote this. I thought... Did I miss her death??? I really think it is utterly tasteless to delve so intimately into someone's life while they are still alive.

If she were dead, then I could say it was a darn good film. Meryl Streep is amazing. The people who did the hair and voice coaching were terrific and the flashback method is good!!

But let the woman die in peace before such things are released!!!

Well A Jolie is not just a pretty face!! This is a very provocative film!
Trouble has been taken to provide a moving believable presentation of this vile and ongoing episode. What struck was the geographical beauty of the
Boz Herz region. Also what a stunning young woman who played Ajila or the Muslim central character. The critics called this film preachy. I disagree. I was riveted from start to finish'

A rather precious film, for all those Woody Allen fans. This is a French production I think. It is interesting to see a production in black and white, though. All the gestures are so melodramatic. It is worth seeing bit not as fab as the critics made out!!!

Nice to see Charlize Theron play a nasty ch again!! The film is agonizing, actually, not funny so much as thought provoking!! Worth seeing!

La Conquete

Well I am not a Sarko-boy, quite yet!!! But it was really interesting to see a film about Nikolas Sarkozy. It was v interesting. I knew almost nothing about him, except that he and Angela of Deutschland are dealing with Europe. Re the workings of the film, I really longed for a more sophisticated rendering. It was a bit of Sarko-thump.

Still worth seeing or streaming!!
